The evening: ATM got wrapped up by his boss-of-boss and made the frustrated call to HEB that he wouldn't be able to attend. HEB relayed the message to ATG and STB, who were already en route. Back to North Beach it was, where HEB planned to meet up with ATG and STB at O'Reily's and plot the course. Probably better to be stuck in SF on this warmer-than-average night anyway than the over-fogged nabe of Daly City. ATM was eventually able to join up after making a pass around the nabe for steak joints. After quaffing a couple cold and frosties, the jacks headed to Sodini's where another round was established and the wait for a table was 10 minutes.

Topics discussed, in no particular order:

1. Dames
2. Adding members to the group (resounding yes vote on some key personnel)
3. Future locations of SteaKnight (will try to keep most future location in the city)
4. Buying special jackets that have our names monogrammed on them
5. Establishing nicknames
6. ATM's and HEB's quick-to-anger former upstairs neighbor
7. ATM's frustration at not enough people to boss around and having only one day a month to acquire more worker bees (bureaucracy that actually works).
8. HEB's work on the funny farm
9. STB spying on HEB's and ATM's neighbor (not the angry one)
10. Do we need a secret handshake? Probably.

It was a great start to SteaKnight and the jacks did a good job of resurrecting this inaugural evening from the ashes of overtime labor.

Review of location: While not a true steakhouse, Sodini's did offer solid steak options and everyone seemed satisfied (and rather full) with their selection.

Preamble and Rules

Preamble

1. The first rule about SteaKnight is that we don't talk about SteaKnight.
2. The second rule about SteaKnight is we DON'T talk about SteaKnight.
3. And if it's your first time, you have to eat Steak.

SteaKnight is the Third Thursday of every month. We alternate High-End, Low-End.

Rules

1. You have to eat steak if it's your first time. For vegetarians we can make them eat something with the word "steak" in it or something that rhymes with steak.

2. No women are allowed unless there will be less than a quorum in attendance. Then you can invite a woman.

3. We just split everything down the middle.

4. SteaKnight will involve restaurants all over the city. This can include SF, Marin, South Bay, East Bay. We can all make suggestions, too.

5. In the summer, SteaKnight turns into bring your own steak, and we grill at someone's house. Because it is so freakin' cold in San Francisco in the summer, we start the summer BYOS in September.

6. Announcement as to where SteaKnight will be comes 1 week or more before the day. Please RSVP.

7. Don't worry if you can't make it each week. Just make what you can.
