SteaKnight: Second Knight
It can hardly be chalked up to coincidence that, as your humble chronicler was creating this blog posting while multitasking with a database application, he accidentally cut-and-pasted this tasty bit of data from the database directly into the post...Truck 244 - S. Knight! It's true, SteaKnight is definitely gathering momentum and shall soon pervade our atmosphere like so much oxygen.
For this month's SteaKnight a low end joint was in order and what better establishment than the Palace Family Steak House, a 'traunt that is in the former nabe of many Knighters but had never been visited...until now.
Location:
Palace Family Steak House
3047 Mission Street (@ Cesar Chavez)
The evening: The excitement in the air as a result of visiting this classic Mission joint was palpable. STB arrived out of breath 15 minutes late and the gents had already established their solid position with a round of bottled beers. Orders were made at the counter and the iceberg lettuce DIY salads were quickly constructed with the available garbanzo beans, croutons and jalapeno peppers. The main courses arrived shortly therafter and the service was about the friendliest we've experienced. They
treat you right at the Palace. Everyone was satisfied with their steak selection. STB, the lone non-steak eater in the group, was treated to a hot blast of scalding hot oil as he bit into his fried fish sandwich and the sandwich struck back. Luckily no one was injured in the process but there were two doctors standing by just in case. SteaKnight protects its own.
Topics discussed, in no particular order:
1. Dames
2. HEB tried to tell a story involving a person, rats and maggots during dinner but was strongly vetoed by other members of the party.
3. Merits of Costco
4. The hate triangle between the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox
5. Ways that you can tell if a person is schizo (might wear a strange hat or multiple coats)
6. Discussed a man JB knows who burns himself with cigarettes on his nubby and then likes to tell about it.
7. The word on the street is that there is a new trend involving the smoking of embalming fluid.
8. There are many different ways that people do meth (turkey baster method, smoking through one's nose, etc.)
9. Location for next SteaKnight (Brazilian place?) Should we do a cookout instead?
10. First day of school plans for MPH and RMD (We will be moving from Point A to Point B and sometimes someone might be gently cupping your buttocks in the process)
11. How much Candlestick sucks which segued into a discussion of stadiums in general.
Post-dinner HEB told the human, rats and maggot story which was truly one of the sickest bits of epic nastiness that any of the lads attending had heard for some time. HEB followed this beauty up with a story about a massivly overweight person (600 lbs.) who couldn't get up from the couch and their bodily fluids caused their fles to break down and fuse their thigh skin to the couch. As a result, the couch had to come to the hospital along with the person. HEB really outdid himself with these two gems.
Alcohol consumed: Coronoa (6), Heineken (4), House Red (2) (LiteKnight!)
Bill: $88.31 ($105 with tip)
Finally, a word of caution to our fans. If you see us out at your local steak shop, please be calm and approach us in an orderly fashion. We are just normal people, probably not entirely unlike you.
